We plan to use the opportunity of the 2012 Games to realise the tourism potential for Northern Ireland and showcase all the unique experiences and attractions we have to offer. Specifically we will: • energise the Northern Ireland tourism industry to confidently move on and grasp all the opportunities that 2012 has to offer • use the opportunity presented by the Olympic Torch Relay to position Northern Ireland as a great place to visit and tell our stories • showcase the best of Northern Ireland including major new developments such as the Titanic Signature Building, Giants Causeway Visitor Centre and Walled City of Derry • communicate key destination messages on a world wide stage to our target markets and inspire more visitors to explore Northern Ireland and experience our awakening • maximise the tourism legacy benefits of the 2012 Olympics and share these throughout Northern Ireland • encourage the international media to come to Northern Ireland during the Games 2012 to uncover our stories and meet our people • use the network of International Sports Federations to position a longer-term sports events strategy for Northern Ireland • build the Games 2012 into a wider programme for NI 2012 Through this website we will: • inspire Northern Ireland businesses to engage in and make the most of the opportunities presented by the Games 2012 • encourage local tourism businesses to network and work together to develop a world-class visitor experience and promote their products effectively and efficiently provide the Northern Ireland tourism industry with updates on developments and opportunities to be grasped • provide the Northern Ireland tourism industry with updates on developments and opportunities to be grasped
